About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support development and implementation of the infrastructure strategy
Design and deploy solutions aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
Support solution design, technical specifications, and architectural blueprints for highly available, resilient, and scalable AWS and hybrid systems
Consult on AWS and other cloud infrastructure offerings, including Google Cloud, for service selection and cost optimization
Establish and enforce cloud security standards, procedures, and controls
Manage Information and Cyber Security vulnerabilities and risks
Engineer, manage, and support codified cloud infrastructure stacks using Infrastructure-as-Code
Manage shared cloud infrastructure services, local service providers, and in-house Nutanix infrastructure
Oversee operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for platform elements, operating systems, and servers
Develop and implement system backup schedules, database archive operations, and data/media recoverability solutions
Act as technical gatekeeper for new requests
Allocate tasks and drive day-to-day management of the Platform Services team
Guide and mentor technical teams while establishing Infrastructure-as-Code best practices
Ensure infrastructure is secure, scalable, and highly available

Requirements

What you’ll need

3 to 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in a Software/Platform/Cloud Engineering role
Significant experience architecting and managing scalable infrastructure
Experience in a lead or senior capacity strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Deep, demonstrated expertise in AWS
Current AWS Professional-level certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
Extensive experience with AWS VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, and EKS/ECS
Advanced AWS architectural concepts
Mastery of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
High proficiency in Python, Bash, Golang, or comparable scripting/procedural languages for automation
Extensive experience designing and implementing distributed applications and cloud computing
Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
Strong analytical and reasoning skills
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments and technologies
