About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and scale high-quality features at the heart of the Anecdotes platform.
- Take complex product initiatives from technical design and architecture through implementation, production, and continuous iteration.
- Work closely with Product to understand customer needs and business challenges and turn them into simple, powerful technical solutions.
- Use modern AI development tools as an integral part of coding, testing, debugging, exploring solutions, and shipping software faster.
- Make thoughtful architectural decisions that support rapid product evolution, scalability, reliability, and a high technical bar.
- Collaborate with engineers across different R&D teams to build cross-platform capabilities and solve complex technical challenges.
- Mentor other engineers, lead technical initiatives, and improve development practices, tools, and frameworks.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend engineering fundamentals - Must.
- Strong experience building and shipping complex, production-grade product applications.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python or another modern high-level programming language.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of databases, data modeling, API design, and scalable system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong product mindset and the ability to understand a problem beyond the technical requirements and help shape the right solution.
- Proven ability to take ownership of complex initiatives and drive them independently from idea to production.
- Ability to mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate effectively within and across teams.
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working across the stack, including frontend development with React and TypeScript - a strong advantage.
- Hands-on experience building products or features using LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into production applications.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
