About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently manage the accounting activities of two to three software companies
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS for multiple entities
Oversee day-to-day financial accounting, from general ledger and fixed asset accounting through accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliations
Record and account for transactions relating to software licenses, SaaS models, project business, and maintenance and support contracts
Prepare VAT advance returns
Handle cross-border matters and support the preparation of annual tax returns
Reconcile and settle intercompany transactions within the international group
Support the implementation of Odoo
Automate and further develop accounting processes and system interfaces
Work closely with Finance teams and management
Act as the central point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and tax inspectors

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed commercial training or a degree specializing in accounting, finance, or taxation
Approximately five years of relevant professional experience in accounting or financial reporting
Very good knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and, ideally, IFRS
Proficiency in accounting software
Good Excel skills
Interest in digitalization, automation, and implementing new systems
Very good German language skills
Good English language skills
High degree of independence, accuracy, and a hands-on mentality
Enjoy taking responsibility and further developing structures
Enjoy working as part of a team and are motivated to develop professionally and progress your career
Further training as a Certified Accountant (IHK) is a strong advantage, but not required
Nice to have: Experience in a software, IT, or technology company
Nice to have: Experience managing multiple companies or business units in parallel
Nice to have: Knowledge of Austrian GAAP (UGB)
Nice to have: Experience in auditing or consulting, for example in a Big Four environment
