About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently manage the accounting for two to three software companies
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS for multiple entities
Oversee ongoing financial accounting, from the general ledger and fixed assets to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliations
Account for business transactions relating to software licenses, SaaS models, project-based business, and maintenance and support contracts
Prepare VAT advance returns
Handle cross-border matters and support the preparation of annual tax returns
Reconcile and settle intercompany transactions within the international group
Support the implementation of Odoo
Automate and further develop accounting processes and system interfaces
Work closely with Finance teams and senior management
Serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and tax inspectors

Requirements

What you’ll need

Commercial training or a degree with a focus on accounting, finance, or tax
Approximately five years of relevant professional experience in accounting or financial reporting
Very strong knowledge of HGB and, ideally, IFRS
Proficiency in accounting software
Good Excel skills
Interest in digitization, automation, and implementing new systems
Very good German and good English skills
A high degree of independence, accuracy, and a hands-on mentality
Enjoyment of taking on responsibility and developing structures further
Enjoy working as part of a team and motivation for professional and personal development
Further qualification as a Certified Accountant (IHK) is a strong advantage, but not required
Nice to have: Experience in a software, IT, or technology company
Nice to have: Experience managing multiple companies or business units in parallel
Nice to have: Knowledge of the Austrian UGB
Nice to have: Experience in auditing or consulting, for example in a Big Four environment
