About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and own AngelList Nova's partnership strategy in collaboration with Product
- Define and own the partner selection process, from market mapping through commercial negotiations
- Lead the search for new partners as Nova expands its offerings and infrastructure
- Maintain network resilience by managing deposit concentration and redundancy options for critical partners
- Renegotiate or replace partners as needed
- Serve as senior point of contact and escalation for partners, from working teams to executives
- Lead third-party oversight with Risk, Compliance, and AML, including partner audits, diligence requests, and issue remediation
- Select partners, negotiate terms, and ensure relationships support and accelerate Nova's roadmap
- Report to Nova's GM; senior individual contributor role with a path to building a team
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years in bank partnerships, fintech partnerships, treasury or deposit programs, or banking
- Experience managing partner banks, sweep networks, payment providers, or infrastructure providers
- Knowledge of bank oversight of fintech partners, including third-party risk, BSA/AML, and FDIC insurance for custodial deposits
- Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements alongside counsel
- Ability to model deal economics before signing
- Ability to discuss APIs, payment rails, and reconciliation with engineers
- Ability to explain partner limits to Product in plain terms
- Ability to manage several high-stakes relationships simultaneously without a playbook
- Ability to make decisions with incomplete data and write decision-ready leadership memos
- Interest in using AI to increase leverage
