About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own AngelList’s security foundations across AWS infrastructure, identity, access control, authentication, authorization, and secrets management
Design and build security architecture and guardrails into infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and developer workflows
Build IAM systems and least-privilege access models across employees, services, and machine identities
Conduct access reviews and manage privileged access
Write security tooling and automation to identify weaknesses and remediate them without human intervention
Apply AI to improve security decision quality and autonomous remediation
Solve security risks at the platform and architectural level
Contribute to application security through threat modeling, secure design, and vulnerability remediation
Work directly with Infrastructure, Engineering, IT, and Product teams to roll out security systems
Report to the Head of Security on a small team with broad scope

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years across security engineering, cloud security, infrastructure security, or identity
Deep hands-on AWS/GCP security architecture and IAM experience
Ability to write software and build automation and internal tooling
Experience driving security changes across engineering teams through influence and tooling
Fluency in infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and modern DevOps
Experience shipping security controls into engineering platforms
Systems-thinking approach to identifying and resolving systemic weaknesses
Experience building something with AI that changed how you work
Ability to work in a hybrid in-office model at least 2 days per week
Strong preference for San Francisco; New York City may be considered
