About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and deliver a Water Quality Strategy for proposed reservoirs
- Work closely with the Reservoir Programme Team, regulators, Anglian Water, and external partners
- Safeguard drinking water quality from source to tap
- Lead the design and implementation of a robust water quality sampling programme
- Support regulatory compliance, including Regulation 15 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016
- Champion the Drinking Water Safety Planning (DWSP) approach
- Produce and maintain water quality risk assessments
- Engage subject matter experts and update strategies in response to emerging risks
- Manage communications and stakeholder engagement
- Prepare reports and presentations
- Drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety and foster a zero-accident culture
- Liaise with Anglian Water, Cambridge Water, DWI, EA, RAPID, and partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educated to postgraduate level in a relevant scientific subject
- Knowledge of Regulation 28 and risk portal
- Experience in water process science, water quality customer service, and public health
- Demonstrable expertise in water treatment and distribution
- Ability to think and operate both strategically and tactically
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
- Good IT and project management skills
- Commercial, business, and industry sector awareness
- Proven problem-solving capability
- Formal training/coaching ability
