About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership support to Regional Network Managers covering Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex
  • Ensure the safe and effective operation of the sewerage network, associated pumping stations and overflows
  • Provide technical expertise and support across multiple locations and operational areas
  • Build stakeholder relationships, influence decision-making and drive consistent regional performance and operational excellence
  • Support managers in overcoming operational challenges, developing teams and delivering sustainable business outcomes
  • Coach and mentor Network Managers
  • Increase focus on employee and customer health and safety
  • Provide tactical support for operational incidents, impact planning, operational decision-making and investment planning
  • Ensure managers and teams have the tools, equipment and training required to manage assets in line with regulators’ guidelines
  • Use performance reporting to improve efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining team wellbeing
  • Promote high-performance culture, excellent customer service and environmental prosperity

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant operational experience within the Water Industry
  • Experience of managing operational incidents in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrable leadership experience within an operational setting
  • Ability to adapt communication style (both written and verbal) to suit a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Awareness of and application of Health & Safety rules and regulations within an operational environment
  • Experience in making commercial decisions often with conflicting priorities
  • SAP financial competence
  • Ability to think tactically but also strategically to achieve business outcomes
  • Full UK Driving Licence
