About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Undertake planned maintenance on the water network
  • React to emergency requirements and maintain water network operations
  • Carry out flushing, surveying, leak detection, pressure and flow tests, and valve operations
  • Use asset maps, data and tools to resolve planned and reactive operational problems
  • Travel around the region in a fully equipped van
  • Ensure water quality is sufficiently maintained
  • Liaise with customers and provide high levels of customer service
  • Keep customers informed throughout work and act as the face of Anglian Water
  • Complete hands-on training and job shadowing
  • Work towards NRSWA accreditation and LTO training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in an engineering industry, ideally providing a front-line service
  • A strong technical aptitude
  • Ideally experience of water networks, street works and leakage control
  • Professional contact with customers is key; must be able to explain terminology to the public in order to reassure and provide a great service
  • Proven experience of providing great customer service
  • Ability to work a 37-hour week
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Required to participate in a standby rota and undertake overtime as and when required
  • Willingness to travel to various locations
  • NRSWA accreditation and LTO training (licence to operate) to be completed through training
