About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans with key retail customers to achieve mutual growth objectives
  • Use syndicated data and category insights to influence assortment, pricing, promotion, and merchandising decisions
  • Identify and sell in new item distribution opportunities to drive volume, share, and POD growth
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with retailer decision-makers, category managers, wholesalers, and key operational personnel
  • Manage and understand the competitive landscape in the assigned market
  • Partner with Category, Marketing, Revenue Management, Sales, field sales, and wholesaler teams to develop customer-specific growth strategies and ensure execution
  • Field day-to-day wholesaler questions and work with strategic partners to resolve issues
  • Provide reporting and insights to regional and office management
  • Manage total accounts and communicate regional corporate programs and local brand promotions
  • Evaluate strategies and action plans against allocated budgets and manage budgets
  • Contribute to development and management of annual account plans
  • Facilitate communication of wholesaler pricing to chain accounts
  • Provide feedback to management on strategic opportunities
  • Provide monthly reports on local chains and programming performance
  • Coordinate with Marketing to develop chain-specific marketing and advertising plans
  • Educate and influence corporate decision-makers on product promotions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Local to Phoenix, Arizona
  • BS/BA degree required; focus in business, finance, marketing or related field preferred
  • Sales and/or Marketing experience, preferably in the beverage or consumer packaged goods industry
  • Proven Leadership Ability/Advanced Supervisory Skills/Demonstrated Coaching Skills Required
  • Ability to work hours as required (nights, weekends, etc.)
  • Advanced computer software proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • High level of expertise in analyzing information and making information-based recommendations
  • Strong familiarity with syndicated data, software and measures preferred
  • Effective communication/presentation, follow-up, administrative and organizational skills
  • Field and retail sales experience in the beverage industry or other consumer product industries
  • Product knowledge of AB’s entire portfolio
  • Complete knowledge of AB and competitive pricing
  • Proficiency with sales tools including Retail Link, iDig, PBI, IRI, and IRI Data Web
