About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients
- Organize, perform and modify therapy programs based on thorough patient evaluation and best-practice methods
- Evaluate assigned patients for current or potential occupational-therapy-related problems
- Establish age-specific plans of care and functional goals
- Incorporate other disciplines, patients and families into treatment planning
- Re-evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify care plans as appropriate
- Assess educational needs and provide education to patients, families and caregivers
- Participate in clinics, rounds, meetings, in-services, process-improvement projects and conferences
- Collaborate with families, physicians, rehabilitation staff, nurse case managers and other stakeholders
- Maintain and upgrade knowledge in pediatric care
- Participate in student supervision/instruction and staff orientation
- Support organizational change initiatives
- Complete other assigned job functions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Successful graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current License or proof of eligibility and submission for license in the State of Illinois
- Certification in CPR from the American Heart Association by having completed the BLS AED Heartsaver Course
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Meets required departmental productivity standards
- Completes mandatory training including core competencies in a timely manner
