About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee planning, design, and execution of complex test strategies
  • Manage manual and automated test cases, analyze results, and drive defect resolution
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures with development teams
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on specifications, user requirements, and cybersecurity standards
  • Perform and oversee functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing for Windows, web, and mobile applications
  • Identify process improvements, including tool and methodology adoption
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
  • Perform security testing, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
  • Mentor and guide junior QA analysts
  • Ensure compliance with NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, industry standards, best practices, and regulatory frameworks
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams regarding quality, security objectives, and timelines
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
  • Create a Community of Practice focused on automation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years (2,080 annual hours) of job-related experience
  • In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
  • Experience with testing methodology, including user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Experience with testing framework technology, such as Selenium, Cucumber, and JUnit
  • Knowledge of defect tracking systems, such as Jira and Bugzilla
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and AzureDevOps
  • Previous Software Quality Analysis leadership experience
  • Ability to work and lead in a project team setting and complete tasks individually within provided or accelerated timelines
  • Ability to meet physical demands including regular lifting of 20–50 lbs.
  • Successful completion of applicable pre-employment criminal/driving background check, drug screen, DOT physical, and/or other qualifications checks may be required
  • Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed; travel may require driving a county or personal vehicle
