About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate allegations of maltreatment of vulnerable adults and provide protective interventions
- Assess clients’ safety, needs, strengths, and support networks to develop safety plans
- Conduct field visits to homes, law enforcement agencies, medical facilities, financial institutions, and other locations
- Build rapport with clients and their support networks
- Provide crisis intervention
- Help clients adjust to life changes and challenges
- Advocate for clients and raise awareness on their behalf
- Maintain case files and records
- Provide referrals and coordinate services for vulnerable adults and their support networks
- Consult with the Anoka County Attorney's Office and local law enforcement agencies
- Attend and participate in court hearings
- Collaborate with community partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human services, nursing, social work, psychology or closely related field
- At least two years of job-related experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis
- Valid driver's license and vehicle available for business use
- Preferred: Master’s degree or higher in human services, nursing, social work, psychology, or closely related field
- Preferred: Three years or more of job-related experience working with vulnerable adults and/or individuals affected by neglect, domestic violence, disability, mental health, homelessness, and financial insecurities
- Experience working with protective services preferred
- Experience working within SSIS database preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking and effective time management
- Ability to pass required pre-employment criminal/driving background check, drug screen and DOT physical, and/or other qualifications checks
