About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the daily accounting operations of the company.
- Produce monthly financial statements.
- Maintain an adequate system of accounting records.
- Maintain comprehensive controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of reported financial results, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare accurate and timely GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Own the monthly close process, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Oversee account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Own the successful execution of the external audit.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations.
- Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls.
- Mentor and support a team of 7, fostering continuous improvement.
- Report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA or similar certification required.
- Proven experience as a Controller.
- Experience at a major accounting firm (e.g., Big 4, Grant Thornton, BDO) a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial processes (monthly close, reporting etc.).
- Experience with an exit transaction and acquisition integration a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Experience with Intacct a plus.
- Experience with utilizing AI to drive efficiencies.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
