About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the project accounting lifecycle
  • Perform recurring accounting procedures during month-end close and day-to-day operations
  • Support engineering project managers in maintaining project data in systems of record such as NetSuite
  • Apply overtime revenue recognition methodologies to meet US GAAP and reporting objectives
  • Review data underlying revenue calculations, including contract values, sales order amounts, cost budgets, actual costs, and labor hours
  • Perform monthly revenue recognition calculations using percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete methodologies
  • Analyze work-in-progress schedules and investigate and resolve project variances, cost overruns, margin fluctuations, and data validation errors
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies
  • Assist with external audit requests and provide supporting documentation
  • Develop and enhance project accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting capabilities within NetSuite
  • Provide leadership and coaching to junior team members and interns

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Minimal travel may occasionally include team off-sites, conferences, training opportunities, or visits to other ANS offices
  • Specialized higher education with an accounting focus (nice-to-have)
  • CPA, CPA in-process, or other relevant licensure (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with NetSuite, Pipedrive, and Monday.com (nice-to-have)
  • Overtime revenue recognition experience, including project accounting and percentage-of-completion (nice-to-have)
  • Industry experience with engineering, construction, or other services organizations (nice-to-have)
  • Public accounting firm experience (nice-to-have)
