About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow and manage Anthropic’s relationships with the U.S. Intelligence Community and allied intelligence and security services
  • Advise the Head of National Security Policy and company leadership on intelligence and allied-partner matters
  • Help security organizations develop policies and governance for rapid, high-impact frontier AI adoption and safe deployment
  • Identify high-leverage national security deployments and support the public sector sales team
  • Brief senior government security officials in the U.S. and allied capitals on frontier AI capabilities, risks, and safety
  • Engage U.S. and foreign government officials on policy frameworks and national security implications of international model distribution and deployment
  • Own government partnership portfolios end to end, including agendas, agreements, relationship channels, and partner requirements
  • Bring partner concerns into policy, product, research, and safeguards decisions
  • Collaborate with public sector sales, legal, security, threat intelligence, federal affairs, international policy, communications, and marketing teams
  • Travel regularly within the U.S. and to allied countries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Substantial experience in national security, including work in or with the Intelligence Community
  • Direct experience managing relationships with foreign partner governments or services
  • Active TS/SCI clearance, or one held within the last two years, and ability to obtain and maintain it
  • Experience negotiating formal agreements or partnerships between governments, or between government and industry
  • Working understanding of intelligence organizations, including classification, liaison relationships, and technology adoption
  • Ability to brief senior policymakers and officials clearly and explain technical subjects accurately
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional technical, sales, policy, trust and safety, legal, security, product, research, and communications teams
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in a complex technical subject, ideally AI; defense technology, cybersecurity, or similar fields also count
  • Ability to build structure amid ambiguity and manage competing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
  • Regional expertise or language skills relevant to allied partners (preferred)
  • Hands-on familiarity with large language models and how they can be misused (preferred)
