About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the technical vision for the Infrastructure team
- Drive the architectural evolution of the control plane and data plane
- Define and drive the multi-year technical roadmap for services orchestrating Ray clusters across diverse cloud and on-premises environments
- Lead the design and optimization of high-performance control plane components for large-scale, heterogeneous AI/ML workloads
- Establish organization-wide standards for reliability, scalability, and observability of Anyscale-managed infrastructure
- Direct the long-term strategy for GPU and TPU accelerator integration and container management
- Lead complex design and architecture discussions
- Resolve deep technical debt and ensure engineering excellence across the organization
- Partner with ML experts and customer-facing teams to translate market needs into infrastructure foundations
- Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional alignment across the Ray open-source community and proprietary product teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience writing high-quality production code and leading complex distributed systems projects
- Proven track record designing and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-native platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes-based deployments and container orchestration at massive scale
- Advanced knowledge of the Linux kernel, networking, and low-level operating system foundations
- Mastery of Go and Python
- Ability to set coding standards and best practices for the team
- Ability to mentor senior engineers, influence technical direction without direct authority, and navigate complex trade-offs in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work in person at Anyscale's San Francisco office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
- Work authorization in the country in which the position is based
