Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and develop one or more project teams to deliver value effectively and predictably
Lead project planning and scheduling
Manage change and produce and analyse project metrics
Prioritise delivery with Technology and Product colleagues in line with strategic, regulatory, and growth objectives
Plan annual portfolios based on business needs
Manage portfolio health, risks, dependencies, and compliance
Support development and advocacy of the Portfolio Operations delivery framework
Develop standard project and programme delivery methodologies across technology change delivery
Align team goals and priorities with business objectives
Ensure outcome-focused planning and stakeholder value
Protect team capacity and support reliable forecasting
Use throughput, velocity, predictability, and flow data to drive improvement
Manage impediments and delivery blockers
Ensure governance and compliance requirements are met
Lead team effectiveness, improvement conversations, collaboration, and learning
Coach Lean Agile behaviours and promote sustainable delivery
Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders
Manage upward expectations and advocate for responsible planning
Report to the Portfolio Lead

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience as a Project Manager in both agile and waterfall environments
Track record of contributing to PI Planning and other large-scale Agile events
Deep understanding of Agile and Lean principles
Hands-on experience with SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban
Strong experience leading high-performing Agile delivery teams
Ability to identify, manage, and resolve delivery-level risks, dependencies, and conflicts
Skilled in stakeholder communication and negotiation at senior leadership level
Excellent verbal and written communication in English
Effective presentation style for all levels of stakeholders
Proficiency with Azure DevOps and MS Office
Relevant certifications preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Advanced degree in IT/management a plus
Background in complex, large-scale business or financial services environments desirable
