About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive licensing and regulatory approvals across diverse jurisdictions
Bridge Web3 innovation and global compliance standards
Protect company legal positions while accelerating speed-to-market
Research and interpret evolving Fintech and Web3 regulations in Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Poland, and the Americas
Lead applications for financial licenses including IMTO, PSP, VASP, and EMI
Design, implement, and manage AML/KYC/CFT policies and internal audit procedures
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, partnership contracts, and vendor terms
Liaise with regulators, financial intelligence units, and external legal counsel
Identify legal risks in product roadmaps and provide actionable solutions to the Executive team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Relevant professional certification (CAMS or equivalent preferred)
10 years of experience in legal/compliance
At least 3-5 years specifically within Fintech, Crypto, or Web3
Deep understanding of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized finance (DeFi)
Demonstrated experience managing compliance in at least two core regions (Africa, EU, or Americas)
Ability to take full responsibility for outcomes
Ability to excel in high-performance environments with high standards and rapid iteration
Strategic thinking and ability to provide risk-minimizing solutions
Ability to distill complex legal jargon into clear business advice for non-legal stakeholders
