Key responsibilities & impact

Build and scale cloud programs (Actors) that crawl and extract data reliably under real-world load
Develop new features and approaches, including AI, for popular Apify Store Actors
Maintain speed and reliability for thousands of users
Build internal projects and tooling, including shared libraries and AI-powered tools
Write clean code and maintain it through reviews and refactoring
Reverse-engineer websites and design developer-friendly APIs
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and growth support
Own the design and integration of Actors and tools within the team codebase
Learn the Apify platform, ship Actor fixes, and deliver mid-sized features from design through production
Independently reverse-engineer websites and ship scrapers
Shape the roadmap and AI usage for Actors and internal tools

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong JavaScript and TypeScript (Node.js) skills and solid understanding of web technologies
3+ years of professional or open source experience on a non-trivial project built with a team
Commitment to code quality, readability, and frequent refactoring
Experience using AI tools and understanding their appropriate use
Appetite for continuous learning in web scraping and beyond
Ability to weigh design trade-offs and structure maintainable code
Clear communication in English, both written and spoken
Experience with web scraping (nice-to-have)
Track record contributing to non-trivial, user-facing products or open source (nice-to-have)
Habit of writing and sharing learnings through tutorials, technical support, or tooling (nice-to-have)
