About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review the program portfolio to evaluate or recommend alternative plans and improve systems engineering processes
  • Manage and sustain the program technical baseline
  • Design and perform system-level tests to assure subsystem and system performance
  • Prepare technical documents defining, specifying, and recommending system/subsystem characteristics
  • Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action
  • Validate systems by developing criteria and procedures
  • Analyze and evaluate major engineering systems, focusing on end-to-end communications from sensors/sources through C2 nodes to end users
  • Provide systems engineering, technical support, and technical training across acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, deployment, installation, and operations oversight
  • Analyze and recommend network requirements
  • Recommend and maintain network architecture and infrastructure
  • Analyze network workload and monitor network capacity and performance
  • Diagnose and resolve network problems
  • Recommend network backup and recovery procedures
  • Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software
  • Apply information security and cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in network service delivery
  • Oversee and guide junior and mid-level network administrators
  • Support the government across sustainment, modification, and capability upgrade efforts for the Space Virtual Labs Network contract supporting the SW&SS division

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Minimum active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • High School Diploma
  • 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD
  • Advanced knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks as a senior Network Administrator
  • Ability to oversee and guide junior and mid-level network administrators
  • Familiarity with Missile Warning, Missile Defense and/or Space Domain Awareness or Command and Control Systems
  • Familiarity and/or experience with Cloud-based technologies
  • Good understanding of networking protocols, including switching technologies, routing fundamentals, firewalls, IP subnets, firewalling, load balancing, zones, and Management Networks
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet, LAN, WAN, xDSL, TCP/IP, fiber, T1, 802.11x, and related network systems, protocols, and standards
  • Experience with DoD STIGs as related to networking devices
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewall configurations
  • Experience with the ITIL framework and ITIL-based processes
  • Ability to support Agile software execution and perform Agile Product Owner roles and responsibilities
  • Relevant industry certifications from Cisco and CompTIA are preferred
  • VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, and CCNP certifications listed
  • Ability to travel approximately 10–20%
