About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and collaborate across teams to resolve software application and system issues related to Applied Materials equipment
  • Investigate High Value Problems (HVPs), systemic defects, and software failures to identify root causes and drive resolution
  • Provide customer-facing software support through the Software Ticketing System
  • Deliver regular status updates and reports to stakeholders regarding critical customer software issues
  • Create, test, validate, and release Software Change Notifications (SCNs) and Key Feature Procedures (KFPs)
  • Develop and maintain customer-focused documentation for externally released software features and functionality
  • Participate in software specification, design, testing, and documentation reviews
  • Support onboarding and development of junior engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and product operation training
  • Contribute to projects demonstrating, evaluating, and developing software capabilities and applications that improve product performance, operational efficiency, and customer experience
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support customer escalations, training programs, product deployments, and other business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid understanding of software support and engineering concepts
  • Technical expertise in software application and system troubleshooting
  • Ability to investigate High Value Problems (HVPs), systemic defects, and software failures
  • Ability to identify root causes and drive resolution
  • Experience or ability to create, test, validate, and release Software Change Notifications (SCNs) and Key Feature Procedures (KFPs)
  • Ability to participate in software specification, design, testing, and documentation reviews
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences
