About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain customer relationships with relevant individuals at all levels in the assigned district
- Perform regular customer visits
- Ensure customer satisfaction with company service and system performance
- Escalate system downs according to procedure and report accurately and promptly
- Achieve guaranteed uptime and other customer parameters
- Promote quality improvement, cycle-time reduction, continuous technical improvement, and workforce empowerment
- Interview, hire, and train customer engineers and technicians as needed
- Manage, coach, and directly supervise professional and skilled support employees
- Conduct salary planning, career planning, corrective actions, objective setting, and performance appraisals
- Ensure employee satisfaction through communication, goal setting, achievement tracking, and development planning
- Forecast financial, manpower, and operational requirements for key businesses
- Identify and pursue service agreement business with marketing and sales
- Manage start-ups according to time and cost requirements
- Manage local inventories and RMA procedures
- Ensure appropriate safety practices among customer engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- In-depth understanding of concepts, theories, and principles in own job family
- Basic knowledge of related job families
- Ability to analyze situations or data and review relevant factors
- Understanding of the semiconductor/electronics industry and business objectives
- Ability to identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems
- Judgment within defined procedures and policies
- Ability to guide, influence, and persuade internal or external stakeholders
- Understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with them
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally to customer sites
- Travel requirement of 25% of the time
