About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, optimize, and qualify semiconductor processes including deposition, etch, EPI, PVD, and related technologies
- Develop, transfer, and qualify processes on new tool platforms
- Define hardware requirements and risk-based qualification plans with equipment engineering teams
- Design, execute, and analyze Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Use JMP, Minitab, and other data analytics platforms to evaluate process data
- Conduct process engineering research, development, characterization, and evaluation
- Define process specifications, operating limits, and experimental evaluations
- Serve as the primary process engineering interface for new product development
- Collaborate with product development, hardware, software, manufacturing, field, supplier, and internal teams
- Support product releases and technology transitions from R&D to high-volume manufacturing
- Understand customer technology roadmaps, process requirements, business challenges, and technology inflection points
- Support customer demonstrations, process evaluations, technology benchmarking, qualifications, and production ramp activities
- Lead customer process escalations through root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Act as a point of contact for process-related customer requests
- Drive continuous improvement in process capability, yield, productivity, and equipment performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant industry, research, or semiconductor process engineering experience
- Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, including deposition, etch, epitaxy, diffusion, and thin films
- Experience with DOE methodologies, statistical process control, process characterization, and data analytics
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams
- Excellent communication and customer-facing presentation skills
- Knowledge of semiconductor process integration and manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting customer qualifications, technology transfers, and new product introductions is highly desirable
- Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, process development, manufacturing, or customer-facing technical roles is preferred
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10–20%
