About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Evaluate technical requirements of new and existing products
Recommend materials and qualified sources to Design Engineering
Work with New Product Development teams on engineering drawing requirements
Ensure suppliers participate in specification development and review for manufacturability
Develop a competitive supplier base through the Supplier Selection Process
Lead supplier technical audits and evaluate supplier performance and capability
Drive supplier continuous improvement opportunities
Train other supplier engineers on supplier audit and evaluation processes
Lead quality problem resolution and incident management
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action
Identify systemic supplier resolutions at the process level
Assist cost planning by monitoring cost drivers and supply markets
Challenge manufacturing methods to develop more cost-effective and reliable products
