About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the appraisal process from initial inspection through final report completion
- Review appraisal estimates and reports for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and regulatory and industry compliance
- Perform appraisals and manage appraisal claims as needed
- Onboard, train, and support contractor appraisers to meet performance expectations and client SLAs
- Partner with appraisers and internal teams to address errors, provide feedback, and implement process improvements
- Maintain accurate records of appraisal reviews, findings, and corrective actions
- Identify trends and recurring issues and communicate findings to management
- Conduct periodic market analyses and monitor market conditions, economic factors, industry developments, and regulatory changes
- Apply sales comparison, cost, and income valuation approaches
- Maintain applicable certifications and use appraisal software, databases, and related technology
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, client requirements, and industry standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control measures for accurate and consistent valuations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Licensed claims adjuster
- Certified Appraiser Property & Casualty Adjusting License
- 10+ years of property personal lines insurance claims experience
- Familiar with Xactimate and Xactanalysis
- Exceptional teamwork and communication abilities
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Growth-minded, sharing ideas with operations to improve process efficiencies and foster open communication
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office, various browsers, and PDF programs
- Ability to learn the company’s Job Management Systems
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined for ITAR compliance: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or person granted asylum in the United States
