About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support assessment of customer infrastructure, technical requirements, and cloud adoption or optimisation opportunities
  • Build, configure, and improve AWS cloud environments and platform services
  • Contribute to cloud migration, implementation, support, and optimisation
  • Apply DevOps principles and automation to improve deployment and platform management
  • Assist with infrastructure as code, scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and repeatable engineering processes
  • Investigate technical issues and provide timely support
  • Automate recurring operational tasks and common support issues
  • Build proofs of concept for new technologies and solutions
  • Balance technical, operational, analytical, and customer requirements
  • Help teams improve through DevOps and platform engineering practices
  • Identify engineering tasks and prioritise the backlog
  • Collaborate with engineers, delivery managers, customer teams, and technical specialists
  • Document configurations, decisions, troubleshooting steps, and engineering processes
  • Participate in workshops, technical demonstrations, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Develop understanding of emerging cloud, platform engineering, data, and AI technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Eligible for UK Government Security Clearance
  • British Passport or ILR
  • Resided in the UK for at least the last 5 years
  • No criminal records
  • No financial irregularities
  • Genuine interest in cloud technology, software, automation, and platform engineering
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing and modern software delivery
  • Some programming or scripting experience, such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Basic Linux experience or strong interest in developing it
  • Good analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a team
  • Initiative, curiosity, and willingness to explore new solutions
  • Ability to work independently with appropriate direction
  • Proactive, organised, and calm approach to learning and delivery
  • Interest in AI and automation for platform engineering and software delivery
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical subject, or equivalent technical qualification, apprenticeship, bootcamp, or demonstrable practical experience
  • Relevant certifications welcome but not required
