About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive consistent, compliant claim resolution across multiple practice groups
  • Engage outside counsel and ensure partners are appropriately involved in the claims process
  • Log and maintain matters in Legisway
  • Manage matter-management calls and coordinate stakeholder communications
  • Report claims to insurance carriers and provide status updates
  • Schedule open-matter status calls with Chief Risk Officers
  • Maintain claims reports, track spending, and update leadership
  • Identify recurring client-issue risks and escalate them to the Chief Risk Officer
  • Manage litigation from intake through resolution
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, statutory filing requirements, privacy laws, and internal controls
  • Track and address client-service issues across practice groups
  • Issue and manage litigation holds with in-house and outside counsel
  • Summarize cases and prepare reports for attorneys
  • Research and investigate facts relevant to claims and legal matters
  • Communicate with internal clients while maintaining confidentiality
  • Serve as a point of contact for claims-related inquiries and updates
  • Organize, index, and archive case documents
  • Draft settlement and release agreements, litigation hold notices, records-release authorizations, and responses under IRS Code 7216
  • Assist with the firm's third-party subpoena process
  • Coordinate data collection and preservation with IT and service lines
  • Handle interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas, coordinating evidence collection, review, and production

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certification or associate's degree in paralegal studies (bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 5–7 years of experience in a paralegal role, preferably in a professional services, corporate legal, or risk management environment
  • Investigative mindset with strong research and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of legal database software, including matter management platforms such as Legisway
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures, claims management processes, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience preparing legal reports, case summaries, and legal memoranda
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent matters across practice groups independently
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Familiarity with insurance reporting processes and third-party subpoena procedures is a plus
