About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, primarily for partnerships and other flow-through entities
- Review workpapers, trial balances, and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Own assigned client engagements and drive projects to timely completion
- Research tax issues and identify opportunities supporting client objectives and planning strategies
- Collaborate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide responsive service
- Respond to review comments, resolve technical issues, and incorporate feedback
- Review junior staff work and provide coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback
- Collaborate with offshore preparation teams and review simpler returns for quality and consistency
- Leverage tax technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools
- Build client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service
- Work with Managers, Directors, and Partners to deliver tax solutions and support client growth initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2-5 years of public accounting tax experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnerships, S corporations and corporations
- Strong understanding of flow-through entities and closely held businesses
- Experience reviewing workpapers and responding to review notes
- Ability to manage multiple engagements successfully
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and CPA firm operations
- Experience working directly with clients and building trusted relationships
- Comfort working with tax technology, automation tools, and evolving AI-enabled solutions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both onshore and offshore teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- CPA or EA designation (preferred)
