About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C Corporations, individuals, and some trust and estate engagements
- Review workpapers, trial balances, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Take ownership of assigned engagements and drive projects through completion
- Research tax issues and identify planning opportunities for clients
- Collaborate with clients to gather information and resolve tax-related questions
- Respond to review comments and manage revisions efficiently
- Support tax planning and consulting engagements across various industries
- Mentor and develop junior team members through coaching and work review
- Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service
- Work closely with managers and partners to deliver high-quality client outcomes
- Develop technical expertise on complex business and individual tax matters
- Collaborate with experienced tax professionals and gain exposure to leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2-5 years of public accounting tax experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, corporations, and individuals
- Strong understanding of flow-through entities and closely held businesses
- Experience reviewing workpapers and trial balances
- Ability to manage multiple engagements successfully
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and CPA firm operations
- Experience working directly with clients and building trusted relationships
- Strong proficiency with tax software and related technology tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CPA or EA designation (preferred)
