About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local corporate tax returns, including consolidated and multi-state filings, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC 740), including deferred tax calculations, valuation allowance analysis, and uncertain tax position documentation.
  • Manage and lead a team of tax professionals, delegating tasks and responsibilities, and overseeing team members' work.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies, staying up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations and identifying tax-planning opportunities.
  • Provide consulting services to clients on mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and corporate restructuring.
  • Conduct tax research to identify tax-planning opportunities.
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Train and mentor team members.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
  • Recent experience working in a public accounting firm.
  • 6+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in accounting.
  • CPA license required; JD, LLM in Taxation, or Enrolled Agent credential may be considered depending on role scope.
  • Experience with corporate income tax, including consolidated and multi-state filings.
  • Experience with ASC 740 income tax accounting and US GAAP as applied to corporate clients, including preparation and review of income tax provisions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology; experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax) preferred.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Willing to work hybrid.
