About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define, deploy and manage the BIM approach for railway infrastructure projects
- Define and implement the project BIM strategy
- Draft or contribute to the drafting of the BEP, BIM protocols and information management documents
- Analyze information requirements and cascade them to the various work packages and stakeholders
- Define production, checking, approval, distribution and archiving processes for models and data
- Contribute to defining BIM uses, particularly technical coordination, model integration, quantity take-offs, 4D planning, cost estimation, construction preparation and asset management
- Coordinate the BIM Managers, BIM Coordinators and data producers across the various work packages and disciplines
- Organize and lead BIM meetings, coordination workshops and model reviews
- Ensure coordination between railway disciplines and consistency across interfaces between models, design studies, construction activities and related projects
- Supervise the production, federation and updating of federated digital models
- Manage the rules governing use of the Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Organize data exchanges between IFC and native formats
- Define and supervise geometric, alphanumeric and document quality checks
- Identify clashes between work packages and lead their resolution
- Produce checking reports, tracking dashboards and BIM performance indicators
- Advise, train and support project teams on BIM methods, tools and best practices
- Monitor standards, methods and tools related to BIM, asset management and the digitalization of railway projects
- Contribute to lessons learned and data knowledge management for infrastructure operation and maintenance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree, engineering degree or equivalent, with a specialization in BIM, civil engineering, railway infrastructure, public works, architecture, engineering or project management
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in BIM management, BIM coordination or data management on infrastructure and civil engineering projects
- Significant experience on railway or transportation projects, ideally covering both design and construction
- Strong command of BIM methodologies, model coordination, document management and processes associated with a Common Data Environment
- Good knowledge of modeling, coordination and checking tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Solibri, AutoCAD or equivalent software
- Knowledge of exchange formats and BIM standards, particularly IFC, as well as information management standards and practices
- Knowledge of railway systems, interfaces between work packages and the constraints of construction in an operational environment is an advantage
- Methodical, with strong analytical, organizational and process-structuring skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teaching skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders in a multidisciplinary project environment
- Professional English is an advantage for communication with international teams, partners and suppliers
