About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the Helix Virtualization Platform development team delivering mission-critical real-time operating systems for avionics and automotive applications
  • Manage team priorities and assignments
  • Collaborate with architects, senior developers, and product managers to define, estimate, and plan feature development
  • Work with Agile Scrum teams to lead design, implementation, refinement, testing, and process development
  • Oversee project logistics and resource allocation
  • Improve process and product-design efficiency and sustainability
  • Secure resources for teams, including hardware and tools
  • Help create and oversee project budgets and cost-management strategies
  • Communicate and engage with field teams and customers on product and technology information
  • Collaborate with other team leaders and departments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BSc or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of managing teams doing software development
  • 7+ years working in software development
  • In-depth knowledge of software certification
  • Knowledge of embedded software technology and processes
  • Personnel and project management skills
  • Leadership, team building, and mentoring skills
  • Communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational, planning, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and stakeholders
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of DO-178C certification standard is desirable
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and JIRA is desirable
  • Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, or DevSecOps concepts
  • Software engineering experience across the full development lifecycle
  • Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM, CSPO) are a plus
  • Familiarity with RTOS, RTOS development tools, and Hypervisor
