About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead legal work on licensing and collaboration deals from term sheet to signing
  • Draft and negotiate agreements while protecting AQEMIA’s intellectual property and drug discovery platform
  • Work with Business Development, Finance, and Leadership to translate commercial goals into contract terms
  • Support IP protection and patent-related decisions with scientific teams and external patent counsel
  • Draft and negotiate NDAs, MTAs, CRO, vendor, software, and data agreements
  • Address GDPR, regulatory, compliance, and dispute-related matters with specialist support
  • Support corporate and fundraising matters with Finance and external advisors
  • Own legal templates and approval workflows
  • Highlight key contract obligations and deadlines to relevant teams
  • Manage external counsel
  • Serve as a trusted legal partner to the CEO, founders, leadership, and teams across the company
  • Report to the Corporate Finance Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Law degree or equivalent professional legal qualification
  • 5+ years of legal experience, including time at a law firm in a life sciences practice
  • Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating biotech or pharma licensing agreements
  • Strong understanding of licensing mechanics and IP ownership in drug discovery, including scope, exclusivity, financials, and termination
  • Excellent English drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to explain legal points clearly to non-lawyers
  • Autonomous, pragmatic, and eager to learn legal topics beyond current expertise
