About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a senior technical authority for complex semiconductor water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to global process engineering teams during concept development, pre-contract engineering, detailed design, commissioning, and system optimization
  • Guide engineers through technically challenging treatment scenarios and novel applications
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary technical design reviews
  • Support root-cause analysis and resolution of complex process performance issues
  • Provide technical support for critical customer discussions
  • Perform independent QA/QC reviews of process designs, treatment trains, mass balances, hydraulic calculations, process calculations, equipment sizing, and system configurations
  • Review PFDs, P&IDs, GAs, equipment layouts, datasheets, control philosophies, utility requirements, BOMs, and related engineering deliverables
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies with project teams
  • Evaluate and qualify emerging technologies for semiconductor UPW, wastewater treatment, reclaim, and ZLD applications
  • Develop and maintain standardized Microelectronics Basis of Design packages and engineering content
  • Contribute to Microelectronics engineering design automation and translate engineering methodologies into automated workflows
  • Evaluate designs from a total lifecycle perspective, improving water recovery, energy efficiency, chemical efficiency, reliability, maintainability, and operating cost
  • Collaborate with global engineering, Technology, Applications Engineering, Operations, Commissioning, Supply Chain, and project teams
  • Mentor and technically develop process engineers across the global organization
  • Facilitate technical workshops and design reviews
  • Capture lessons learned and develop systemic engineering improvements
  • Support engineering quality metrics and KPIs
  • Maintain awareness of semiconductor manufacturing trends and their impact on treatment requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience designing semiconductor water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Extensive hands-on process engineering experience supporting semiconductor or advanced microelectronics facilities
  • Demonstrated technical expertise across UPW, industrial/semiconductor wastewater treatment, water reclaim/reuse, ZLD, membrane treatment, ion exchange/polishing, advanced oxidation, and/or chemical treatment and solids separation
  • Demonstrated experience developing and reviewing complex process flowsheets
  • Strong working knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment sizing, equipment specifications, layouts, datasheets, BOMs, and engineering cost development
  • Demonstrated ability to independently review and challenge complex engineering designs
  • Strong understanding of equipment efficiency, OPEX impacts, system reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost
  • Experience evaluating and implementing new treatment technologies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across global and culturally diverse engineering teams
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to mentor and technically develop other engineers
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
  • PE registration or advanced engineering degree (preferred)
  • EPC/EPCM project experience (preferred)
  • Semiconductor owner/operator experience (preferred)
  • Experience with equipment fabrication and vendor engineering (preferred)
  • Field startup, commissioning, qualification, and troubleshooting experience (preferred)
  • Experience developing engineering standards, design libraries, or standardized treatment platforms (preferred)
  • Experience with process modeling, digital engineering, configuration tools, or engineering design automation (preferred)
  • Experience evaluating technologies from both CAPEX and lifecycle OPEX perspectives (preferred)
  • Global engineering or project experience (preferred)
  • Experience working directly with semiconductor customers and technology suppliers (preferred)
  • Interest in and willingness to pursue future leadership development and broader organizational responsibility (a plus)
