About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently manage Title IV financial aid processing for students enrolled in clock-hour programs
  • Review FAFSAs and determine and verify eligibility
  • Complete awarding, packaging, verification, ISIR corrections, disbursements, calculations, professional judgments, and dependency overrides
  • Apply federal student aid requirements and identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate directly with schools and students across FAME's two service models
  • Explain financial aid requirements, needed information, and next steps
  • Communicate with assigned schools by phone, email, and virtual meetings, including monthly meetings
  • Respond to questions and provide updates on student financial aid matters
  • Investigate financial aid issues, determine next steps, and move cases forward
  • Collaborate with the remote team to resolve issues
  • Manage workload while meeting turnaround time, productivity, accuracy, and reliability expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience working in a school financial aid administration department
  • Extensive knowledge of Title IV federal student aid regulations and compliance requirements for clock-hour schools
  • Extensive experience administering Title IV financial aid for clock-hour programs
  • Ability to complete packaging and awarding, ISIR corrections, verification, professional judgments, dependency overrides, disbursements, and financial aid calculations independently
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and organized
  • Customer service and financial counselling skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex federal student aid requirements, eligibility, estimates, and financial aid offers clearly
  • Ability to work independently within a collaborative remote team
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet turnaround expectations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comfort working with financial aid management systems, student information systems, databases, and virtual collaboration tools
  • Experience with FAME's software preferred but not required
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States on an ongoing basis
