About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Receive referrals from physicians and mid-level providers
- Perform initial evaluations of client needs and develop customized treatment plans
- Provide counseling and talk therapy using professional counseling standards
- Formulate differential diagnoses of mild to moderate mental health conditions
- Develop short-term and long-term counseling plans
- Consult with the medical director and other providers regarding complex patients and prescription medications
- Identify urgent mental health conditions and make appropriate referrals to emergency or psychiatric treatment facilities
- Document counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions
- Prepare and conduct group counseling using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Establish follow-up for evaluating plans of care and modify treatment as necessary
- Initiate referrals and consult with other healthcare providers when appropriate
- Provide patient and family teaching to support treatment-plan management
- Maintain documentation of clinical and counseling services, including billing information
- Maintain and update professional knowledge through continuing education, staff meetings, and workshops
- Provide diagnostic evaluations and focused outpatient treatment through individual, family, marital, and group psychotherapy
- Meet with clients, assess mental health status, and develop therapy courses addressing substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
- Active, unrestricted license: LMFT, LCSW, LSW, LPC, LPCC in Colorado
- Strong background in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and ACT
- Ability to provide therapy independently
- Comfort using an EHR and telehealth platforms with adherence to HIPAA
- Experience conducting psychotherapy with specific populations such as children, adolescents, trauma, and couples
- Experience in outpatient or group practice settings
- Positive behavior, attitude, and commitment
- Ability to work with physicians, mid-levels, and other medical care team members to evaluate patient conditions and develop comprehensive care plans
- Demonstrated positive teamwork, cooperative efforts, and prompt and attentive service
- Clinical experience
- CBT or DBT experience
