About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support civil and structural design activities across rail and multi-sector projects
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and technical documentation
- Contribute to projects using 3D design and BIM environments, including AECOSim, Revit and Civil 3D
- Work within a Common Data Environment
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver coordinated design solutions
- Assist with project documentation supporting programme, budget and quality objectives
- Participate in site visits and surveys, including rail environments
- Develop relationships with clients, colleagues and project stakeholders
- Follow company systems, procedures and health, safety and welfare requirements
- Build technical, professional and project delivery skills through mentoring, training and on-the-job experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Student or Graduate membership of ICE or IStructE
- Experience in civil and/or structural design, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Exposure to the rail sector would be advantageous
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status with ICE or IStructE
- Experience using civil engineering design software to prepare technical deliverables
- Awareness of BIM principles and experience working within a Common Data Environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good planning and organisational abilities
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proactive, collaborative and delivery-focused approach
- Commitment to continuous learning and development
- Flexibility to travel occasionally within the UK
