About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare electrical designs and drawings for building facilities and electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm, PA, IT, and related systems
  • Use computer-aided design and analytical tools to develop electrical designs
  • Identify cost-effective solutions to design problems
  • Support the electrical discipline across pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases on multiple concurrent projects
  • Liaise with project managers and discipline project leaders to obtain project information and resolve design-related problems
  • Create and present technical reports on design or study assignments
  • Coordinate assigned work with other disciplines
  • Develop strong industry relationships with design professionals
  • Work with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients on sustainable building projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical design and specification experience with building power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm systems, card access and camera security systems, PA systems, telecommunications systems, and audio-visual systems
  • Experience producing IFC drawings and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and use of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards including NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC, IEC, CE, and EN
  • Experience using electrical design, analysis, modeling, and CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power, CDEGS, and MicroStation
  • FE/EIT certification preferred
  • PE registration preferred
  • Experience with full-service consulting design firms and coordination with in-house A/E resources preferred
