About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct project-related research, including reviewing historical data and applicable regulations
  • Design remediation systems for soil, groundwater, and soil vapor intrusion, including in-situ technology treatment systems
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot remedial systems
  • Perform site characterization, including data compilation and evaluation
  • Assist with technical reports, work plans, letters, and other written correspondence
  • Evaluate remedial technologies and support feasibility studies
  • Develop remedial cost estimates
  • Prepare design specifications, drawings, and construction documents
  • Assist with environmental permitting activities
  • Oversee contractors, including excavation and construction
  • Oversee, implement, operate, maintain, and monitor field pilot tests and remedial systems
  • Conduct hydraulic, air flow/vacuum, geotechnical, and other field tests
  • Sample soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air in compliance with State and Federal standards
  • Support environmental investigation, design, permitting, and remediation projects
  • Work alongside task managers, technical experts, and project managers on multiple projects
  • Perform field work and travel, including occasional hotel stays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline
  • Current valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to perform field work
  • Ability to work independently and in groups
  • Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or CADD preferred
  • EIT certification preferred
