About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Senior Scientists, Project/Program Managers, and Technical Experts on environmental assessment and remediation projects
- Provide program support for emerging contaminant projects and remediation capabilities
- Support engineering design and optimization for treatment systems
- Assist Project Managers and Task Managers with environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
- Perform civil/environmental engineering design, including land development planning, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations/layout, and earthwork site design
- Develop permit/construction-level drawings and details
- Prepare technical specifications and construction cost estimates
- Prepare subcontracts and oversee subcontractor work
- Participate in fieldwork, including soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater sampling, geotechnical investigations, and construction oversight
- Interpret and evaluate field and analytical data
- Prepare engineering designs, permit applications, and construction-related documents
- Perform environmental remediation design, including soil and groundwater remedial system and in-situ technology treatment design and assessments
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
- Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, prepare health and safety plans, review regulatory files, write proposals, develop project strategies, and manage schedules and budgets
- Engage in face-to-face meetings with clients, technical teams, and stakeholders
- Perform a combination of field and office tasks with periodic travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
- Candidates graduating in May 2027 are encouraged to apply
- Entry-level candidate comfortable with a dynamic workflow
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and team building skills
- Strong communication skills
- Focus on health and safety
- Excellent teambuilding and organizational abilities
- Self-motivated with independent thinking
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently/remotely
- EIT Certification preferred
- Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field preferred
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS, or ArcGIS preferred
- Ability to undertake regional business travel up to 1–2 days per week on average
- Ability to travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time several times per year
- Ability to accommodate estimated travel up to 75% during the first two years and approximately 50% by the third year
