About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Project Managers and Task Managers with planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
- Prepare subcontracts and oversee subcontractor work
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
- Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, prepare cost estimates, and develop health and safety plans
- Conduct regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and subcontract establishment
- Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling
- Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation
- Conduct groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, and remediation system operation and maintenance
- Support National emergency response teams for incidents such as train derailments and pipeline releases
- Communicate with clients and collaborate with project teams
- Work occasional unanticipated travel and hours outside standard business hours for emergency response
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science)
- Valid driver's license
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively independently, remotely, and in a team setting
- Ability to be adaptable and a creative problem solver
- Ability to travel regionally 1–2 days per week on average
- Ability to travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time a few times per year
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
- Master of Science degree in Geology or closely related field preferred
