About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
  • Prepare subcontracts and oversee subcontractor work
  • Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
  • Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, prepare cost estimates and health and safety plans
  • Conduct regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establish subcontracts
  • Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling
  • Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation
  • Perform groundwater sampling, remediation system operation and maintenance, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, and subcontractor oversight
  • Support regional and national emergency response teams, including incident response recovery
  • Perform office-based task management, data analysis, report preparation, scope preparation, and client communications
  • Work under trained incident responders during unforeseen incidents, potentially outside standard business hours
  • Travel regionally up to 1–2 days per week on average and within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting, independently, and remotely
  • Self-motivated with independent thinking
  • Adaptable, creative problem-solving and collaborative abilities
  • Willingness to conduct regional business travel and occasional U.S. travel for multiple weeks
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (preferred)
  • Master of Science degree in Geology or closely related field (preferred)
