About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
- Conduct outdoor fieldwork and collect/document soil, air/vapor, groundwater, and surface water samples
- Oversee subcontractors, including drilling operations and groundwater well installation
- Perform remedial system operation and maintenance checks and repairs
- Conduct facility inspections and soil gas (vapor intrusion) surveys
- Coordinate field preparation, equipment procurement, and analytical laboratory sampling
- Conduct site visits, site characterization, drilling oversight, groundwater/stormwater sampling, excavation oversight, and remedial system installation oversight
- Provide emergency response support for train derailments and HAZMAT spills, including sample planning and collection, regulator correspondence, and contractor oversight
- Write technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
- Process data, perform table and trend analysis, and model groundwater plumes
- Coordinate tasks, analyze data, develop proposals and costs, prepare health and safety plans, review regulatory and historical files, develop project strategies, and manage schedules and budgets
- Assist project managers with preparing subcontracts and overseeing subcontractor work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science)
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
- Experience supervising environmental drilling preferred
- Experience with injection remediation preferred
- Prior knowledge of NJDP rules and regulations preferred
