About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
  • Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation
  • Conduct groundwater sampling
  • Oversee subcontractors and prepare subcontracts
  • Operate and maintain remediation systems
  • Conduct vapor intrusion and soil gas surveys
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
  • Coordinate tasks and compile and interpret data
  • Prepare cost estimates and health and safety plans
  • Conduct regulatory file reviews and proposal writing
  • Develop project strategies and manage schedules and budgets
  • Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling
  • Support Pacific Northwest and National emergency response teams for incidents such as train derailments and pipeline releases
  • Communicate with clients and perform office-based task management, data analysis, report preparation, and scope preparation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field preferred
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to exhibit independent thinking
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting and independently/remotely
  • Adaptable, creative problem-solving and collaborative teamwork
  • Ability to conduct regional business travel 1–2 days per week on average
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time a few times per year
  • Ability to support unanticipated travel and work outside standard business hours for emergency response
  • Ability to perform fieldwork with a focus on health and safety
