About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead delivery of high-complexity, high-risk and major projects or portfolios
- Ensure delivery meets or exceeds client expectations for time, quality, budget and health and safety
- Follow Project Management procedures and uphold Arcadis project delivery principles
- Provide leadership, direction and technical advice to project teams
- Motivate and mentor junior project managers
- Contribute to pursuit strategies and negotiate acceptable contractual terms
- Communicate project strategy, brief and client requirements to team members
- Develop portfolio strategies and tools to drive consistency and achieve strategic goals, focusing on Tier 1 clients
- Establish and manage financial, project, forecasting, change management and monitoring controls
- Lead continuous improvement of processes and procedures
- Manage project resources and direct the assessment, selection and management of suppliers, sub-consultants and contractors
- Set and monitor health and safety management targets
- Achieve project success targets for cash flow, margin, HSE, quality and schedule
- Seek and act on client feedback to support repeat business
- Administer contracts effectively and target no claims or inability to invoice
- Maximize GEC utilization and Arcadis business performance
- Conduct effective project closeouts and identify required improvements
- Maintain client relationships and identify future opportunities
- Direct task teams, clarifying scope, budget and program while fostering teamwork
- Steward project health and safety
- Set team member goals and provide regular feedback on long assignments
- Promote diversity and global capabilities across Arcadis
- Work to high professional and ethical standards and engage subject matter experts when needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Commercial knowledge including expert understanding of contractual conditions and procedures, with ability to take commercial responsibility for a high-complexity project
- Ability to deliver multi-service, high-complexity projects or portfolios to achieve strategic results and consistent client service
- Expert-level project management skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, team coordination, business case and benefits management capability
- Ability to meet the skills proficiency requirements of an Arcadis Accredited Project Manager
- Minimum Staff Grade 12 with a relevant engineering degree and chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation
- Continuous Professional Development in project and program management
- Significant experience managing large ($10m+) high-complexity projects
- Experience leading design in a consultant organization in a tendered design services environment
- Demonstrable expertise working with technical disciplines across multiple geographic locations
