About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and coordinate electrical systems for municipal water/wastewater projects
  • Focus on medium- and low-voltage power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding
  • Collaborate with Control Systems and Process Mechanical groups
  • Manage projects/tasks, budgets, delivery schedules, scopes, and schedules
  • Establish design criteria and perform design calculations
  • Develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications
  • Perform engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals and shop drawings and responding to contractor RFIs
  • Conduct field inspections and oversee construction projects
  • Identify deviations from design, perform general QA/QC, and monitor safety compliance
  • Perform system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software
  • Provide engineering responsibility for staff publishing power systems studies with arc flash hazard analysis
  • Support the growth of Arcadis's municipal water/wastewater practice
  • Travel up to 10% to support project needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferably with an emphasis on power
  • Professional Engineering License in Arizona or ability to obtain reciprocity in 6 months
  • Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary design team
