About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support multiple water and wastewater treatment design and construction projects
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain robust project schedules for industrial wastewater, remediation, and other design and construction projects
  • Create project plans including work breakdown structures, sequencing, resource allocation, budgets, milestones, and basis-of-schedule documentation
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, constraints, risks, and key milestones with project teams
  • Provide planning expertise during tendering, execution, and close-out phases
  • Develop integrated master CPM schedules incorporating subcontractor and equipment vendor schedules
  • Prepare schedule and project controls specifications for contractors
  • Establish and maintain baseline schedules aligned with contractual requirements and industry best practices
  • Monitor progress against baselines, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions
  • Track milestones, critical path activities, and deliverables across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Prepare and present progress updates, look-ahead schedules, dashboards, and recovery plans
  • Coordinate schedules with clients, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, project managers, engineers, suppliers, owners, and contractors
  • Identify scheduling risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Integrate schedules with resource and cost plans to support earned value management
  • Align WBS, CBS, and code of accounts for performance and progress monitoring
  • Develop, validate, maintain, and update conceptual, budgetary, and detailed cost estimates and forecasts
  • Evaluate and incorporate change orders, design revisions, and scope modifications into schedules
  • Support claims and change management processes with planning data and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures
  • Lead adoption of best practices, digital tools, and process improvements
  • Mentor and support junior project controllers/schedulers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
  • 15+ years of industry experience, including at least 10+ years in planning and scheduling large capital projects
  • Direct experience with industrial wastewater and remediation system projects strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with planning/scheduling software; Primavera P6 preferred
  • Integration experience with other project controls and project management information systems (PMIS) required
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, critical path method (CPM), and earned value management
  • Experience with permitting, design, procurement, and construction logistics for complex engineering and construction projects
  • Professional certification such as PMI-SP or AACE PSP is a plus
