About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and maintain cost plans, budgets, estimates and commercial reports
  • Monitor project costs, forecast expenditure and analyse variances
  • Support management of small to medium-sized commissions and key elements of larger projects
  • Identify commercial risks, issues and opportunities throughout project delivery
  • Work closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Provide cost and commercial advice in line with established governance and compliance processes
  • Support continuous improvement and drive innovation across cost management delivery
  • Attend project and site meetings
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and project partners
  • Manage own project workstreams or support larger commissions across highways infrastructure projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
  • Experience working on infrastructure, highways, transportation or aviation projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including compensation events and contract administration
  • Ability to analyse commercial information and produce accurate cost and reporting outputs
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proactive and organised approach, with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Sound understanding of construction delivery and cost management methodologies
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Progress towards, or achievement of, a professional qualification such as MRICS
  • A CSCS card or willingness to obtain one
