About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support regional, national, and international environmental due diligence projects and programs
  • Support project and portfolio management and client relationships
  • Produce high-quality Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527-21
  • Support limited compliance evaluations and planning Phase II ESAs
  • Evaluate opportunities, develop scopes of work, and prepare proposals
  • Oversee preparation of project proposals, reports, and deliverables
  • Coordinate and conduct reviews of project documents with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct Phase I ESAs at complex facilities and properties, including chemical plants, heavy manufacturing sites, active remedial sites, and corridor studies
  • Conduct site visits, interviews, and meetings
  • Write and provide senior review of Phase I ESAs
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Prepare proposals and deliver EDD projects in collaboration with clients and Arcadis colleagues
  • Manage and coordinate Phase I ESA projects and portfolio work
  • Support Phase II ESA planning
  • Review complex regulatory permits and documentation
  • Evaluate environmental and health & safety regulatory compliance, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with junior staff, senior technical experts, and project managers in an interdisciplinary environmental team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or closely related field
  • 7–10 years’ relevant experience conducting Phase I ESAs, including project and portfolio management and team development
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including CERCLA, SARA, Brownfields Amendments, RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, SPCC, and state and local storage tank regulations
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to work outside in potentially inclement weather
  • Ability to work at project sites involving potentially hazardous environmental media and proprietary manufacturing activities
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental/Civil Engineering, EHS Management, or related discipline
  • Preferred: Contractor management experience
  • Preferred: Project management experience of multi-site and/or global EDD projects
